April http://ajoy2scrap.blogspot.com/

This is my first blog Hop to participate in. I'm so excited. I'm sure a few of us will have a little blog candy, so don't forget to hop on by.

A few of my favorites from this past year

I just think this little chick is so cute. It was alos a couple of firsts for me. I used Glossy Accents on the umbrella and boots. And I made my own Perfect Pearls glimmer mist spray and used it on the raindrops and then used Glossy Accents after they had dried. Oh yeah, and I used my new at the time Martha Stewart fringe scissors. Love those, makes cutting the grass so easy.

In late 2009, we adopted a tiny stray kitten. So young, I had to bottle feed her for two weeks. We named her Magnolia, or Maggie for short. She has become so dear to me. I swear sometimes she must think she is a dog. She is so funny. Anyway, I hadd to start a scrapbook just for her. This is one of my favorites. I love the simplicity. I also used grungeboard and my crop a dile for the 1st time. I colored the grungeboard circles with SU ink and then stamped the title. Magggie won the fight, by the way.

My daughter has a snowglobe collection, so I had to make this for her.

I made this for the first Cricut Circle monthly challenge. It was also my first home decor project. I love the papers from Sassafras Indie Girl.

These pictures are from quite a few years ago. My how the girls have grown! In real life, the LO has alot of dimension.

I love love this LO. My favorite color is blue, and these papers from Lily Bee Designs are gorgeous. My cousin moved to Australia a few years ago and was in town for a visit this past summer.

Flaunt It Friday #5

For this week's challenge at Flaunt it Friday, we needed to use the martini glass on the From the Kitchen cartridge. I had a tough time with this - just didnt know what paper to use, etc.
I ended up using some Crate Paper DP because I like the colors. The stamp is from Jump and Jive by Pink by Design and the paper for the martini is all from Michaels. I have no idea who or when I would give this too! LOL

Flaunt It Friday #4

This week's challenge at Flaunt it Friday was to use the turtle from Create a Critter, and to try to not just make a card. Whew! That was hard. I have been on such a card kick, I was having a hard time thinking any other way. My daughter and I had made little gift bags for her teachers for Thanksgiving, so I decided to do that again. I used some of my favorite Granola Basic Grey paper. I used Perfect Pearls mist to color my flowers to match and used Glossy accents on his shell. Isn't he cute?

My New Office/Craft Room

Welcome to my new office. Since I received a few new toys for Christmas, I wanted to move things around a bit.

Welcome to Provocraft corner! LOL It is so nice to have everything in one spot. Before, I had my table on the other side of the room, so I had to get up everytime I wanted to use the cricut. Under the table I have a HUGE bin of grosgrain ribbon and a few smaller boxes from when I used to make bows and headbands (anyone want to buy a bunch of ribbon?!). I also have my box of cricut cartridges and scrapping ribbon and bling.
Here is my beautiful desk from Office Depot. In the 2 upper cabinets, I have my stamps, stickles, etc, Crop a dile, label maker, and Spellbinders. The bottom cabinet holds my Basic Grey paper. I used the pullout keyboard drawer for my paper cutters. The two decorative boxes up top have my wood mount stamps in them. Cool, huh!

This bookcase is also from Office Depot. I have my sticker embellishments, finished cards, chipboard and albums. And yes, 2 more carts full of grosgrain ribbon!

This is my old computer armoire that is slowly being overrun by scrapping supplies! So far, I have all my paper stacks and individual paper, boxes pictures and boxes of cricut booklets.

Well there you go - my scraproom. I love it! I feel so lucky to be able to actually have a room all to myself. It used to be the girls' playroom, but I kicked them out! LOL Thanks for looking.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

I have been so busy this month, I haven't had much time for challenges. Let's see... I made over 50 Christmas cards to send to family and friends, busy at Preschool with Christmas programs and parties for over 200 little ones, and my mom came for a visit for the holidays from Hawaii. So busy, busy, not much crafty time. But I had an awesome Christmas - I got the Cricut Imagine from my dear sweet hubby and a bunch of new cartridges for both the I and the E. Yay! I can't wait to get down and dirty with my new new toys.

I hope everyone has a blessed holiday.

Let it Snow

I made this card for the Flaunt It Fridays 1st challenge. We were supposed to use the snowman from page 29 of Winter Frolic. I cut the cute little guy at 3.4 and used DP from DCWV Winter Wonder stack. The stamp is from Pink by Design's Winter Fun. I added a little bling and called it done! Oh yeah! and I used my brand new Peachy Keen Everyday Character Faces for the first time! WooHoo

RRR 11

I am trying my hand at using a few different colors for some Christmas Cards. Even though we rarely get snow down south, we do know what it is! I have a few friends and family up north, so I guess I will have to send these to them.

I used paper from my stash, the snowflake Cuttlebug folder and the pretty dark blue and silver snowflake ribbon from Michaels. The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper Winetr Punnies.

Thanks for looking.

Cricut Circle Monthly Challenge

This was a fun project to do. The challenge was Celebrating Creativity. It really made me step outside my comfort zone. The font and label are from Storybook. The paper is from Sassafras Lass Indie Girl. Unfortunately, I have no idea what I am going to do with this, bc it doesnt match the colors in my scrap room, even though it is my favorite color, blue. Hmm, maybe I will fram it and put in Bailey's room. Blue is her favorite color too. Thanks for looking.

I love you cherry much

I used the cherry from Hello Kitty and cut it around 3 inches. I put Glossy accents on the cherries and used a stamp from Pink by Design Country Living. Add a little bling and call it done. I made this for my hubby - he is looking for a job right now and I wanted him to know that I was behind him 100%.

I must say, I dont have much purple in my stash, but I new that I had Basic Grey's Wisteria paper and that it had beautiful purples in it. The new technique I tried was the gate fold card.

Card Creations & More by C - purple and something new

Just a Note

The paper for this card is from DCWV Autumn Splendor. I used my new MS leaf border punch that I found at Michael's for $14.99. It also has the corner punch - what a deal! They had a bunch of the punch around the page sets on clearance. The bling is from my stash.

Have a tree-mendous day!

I have been wondering what kind of card to make with this little beaver from Create a Critter. I pored over all my stamps and found this one and thought it would be perfect. The paper is DCWV Autumn Splendor.

Mr & Mrs

I made this card for a wedding I went to this past weekend for my cousin's daughter. It is so hard to believe that a cousin of mine has a child old enough to get married! EEK! I'm getting old! When did that happen?! I used Basic Grey Indian Summer paper and I think the letters are from Plantin. Her wedding was outside at a small plantation house in St. Francisville and her colors were all the beautiful fall colors. So pretty! Good Luck to Ashley and Adam!

7th Grade

Taylor came home with her school pictures this week. I don't normally do one picture layouts, but I thought this would be a perfect time for one. I used the sketch from Creative Scrappers for the #125 celebration. I cut the lock from Locker Talk and the apple and books from Hellow Kitty Greetings. The letters are from Plantin. The awesome paper is from Bo Bunny Learning Curve that I won from Generations Crafting.

Happy Fall Ya'll #2

When I saw the challenge at 365 Cards, I knew I had the perfect paper in my stash for it. I have no idea where it is from, bc I have had it forever. The challenge was to make a card with a diamond and a circle shape - anyway, anyhow. I used the diamond paper on a circle card from the Wild card cartridge. Cute and Simple. Hmm.. just noticing that I meant to ink the edges. I always forget that step. I am also going to enter this into MPS Countdown to Karlee giveaway challenge. Thanks for looking.

For Bailey at Kona Kids Krafters Challenge

I was so excited to stumble across a kids' challenge blog, Kona Kids Krafters. When I am in my craft room, one of the girls usually joins me and makes a card as well. This card has been been a work in progress for Bailey for a week. She kept thinking it needing a little something extra! LOL She didn't understand what R.I.P. meant so she wanted to spell it out for others.

Happy Thanksgiving

I used patterned paper from my stash and kraft paper for the card base. I think the leaf ribbon is from Target dollar spot and a little bling from Michaels. I stamped a 'blessings' sentiment on the inside for a simple and easy Thanksgiving card.
This card is for Cricut Cardz Challenge #45
